LOS ANGELES - Buena Park
4 380 SEK for 2 rooms during 4 nights.
Good hotel a bit far south in LA. No breakfast but 2 places close to hotel with standard US breakfast, lots of sugar and lots of fat!!
Hard but good beds. Difficult to close toilet door. Small pool, which we did not use in December...

CAIRNS - Tropic Days Youth Hostel
4 440 SEK for 2 rooms during 5 nights (we actually had own kitchen and bathroom as well)
Simple youth hostel but with extremely nice crew. Clean and all basic functions catered for.
Fabulous champagne breakfast during Christmas day!
Small but nice pool with nice area around.
Great with free wifi.

TOWNSVILLE - Aquarius on the beach
1 450 SEK for 2 rooms during 1 night
Really nice hotel by the sea in Townsville. Roomy and clean. Nice beds.
Friendly staff which went out of their way to open kids door when they locked themselves out.

AIRLIE BEACH - Backpackers by the bay
820 SEK for 2 rooms during 1 night

Complete dump!
Rooms smelled of mould
Mens toilets filthy and several non-working
Rooms not clean
Staff very relaxed (lazy).... although friendly.
Nice view is best we can say.

SYDNEY -Formule 1 Sydney Olympic Park
3 750 SEK for 4 nights - one family room
Small family room where we really had to squeeze in.
Breakfast possible to buy in reception, but completely useless! Most of the time run-out of essentials but still full price.
Run down rooms, not quite clean.
Pretty far out of town, close to Olympic park.

APOLLO BAY - Best Western Apollo Bay
11 990 SEK for apartment during 6 nights
Fabulous apartment with free coffee and tea and milk for it! Really close to town and beach.
Small pool. Nice balcony outside apartment.
Really friendly staff!! Good cleaning service and nice rooms.

MELBOURNE - Vibe Hotel Carlton.
5 200SEK for 2 rooms during 4  nights!

Fabolous hotel.
Great Location in Carlton right next to a tram stop.
Walking distance to several nice parks and Melbourne Zoo.
Pool with free pool towels.
Onky issue - parking cost 10AUD per day....

HONG KONG - Metropark Hotel Kowloon
3 100 SEK for 2 rooms during 4 nights!

Good hotel, entrance very impressive.
Rooms a bit worn, but clean and OK
We got 2 rooms next to one another with a door in-between which was very practical as a family.
The breakfast was good for 110 HKD (approx95SEK) per person.
Good location, close to Ladies market and also walking distance to eg Flowers market and Bird garden.
